You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.
Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter
correct the information in the article
explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a regular reader and a great fan of your travel magazine " Exotic Destinations". In the recent issue, the magazine highlighted our town "Dharmshala" which is quite a beautiful place to visit in the Himalayas. Also, It would make our town famous worldwide, and attract many international tourists.
However, the article contained some incorrect information that I am concerned about. First, Dharmashala is in the Himachal state not the Uttarakhand state of India. Secondly, the place has serene surroundings and it is not prone to frequent rampant storms as claimed in the article. Besides, the storm came in Uttarkhand state which is just adjacent to Himachal state as both covers the mountains of the Himalayas.
I believe erroneous facts may confuse your readers and deters many to visit our town as tourists. It is one of the famous tourist places in India, and the wrong tabloid posted in your magazine will have a negative impact on the local's income.
In light of the situation, I would request you to please check the real ground facts before issuing any piece of article in your magazine. And, please share the correct information with your readers in next month's magazine.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Shwatank Bhasin
