TPO 16 independent writing
The reading passage introduces three difficulties archaeologists in Britain are facing. However, the woman in the lecture disagrees with the reading. She claims that after The New Guideline for archaeology excavating was appeared in 1990, the difficulties are no longer existed.
First of all, the reading passage asserts that many artifacts are destroyed because construction companies don't preserve them. Yet, the lecturer points out that now the government regulates that each sites of construction needs to be examined by archaeologists before they start. The archaeologists will investigate at the sites to determine if there is any interests or value on preservation. If there is, they need to gather the builders and government to plan for the later on process.
Moreover, the reading passage suggests that archaeologists have inadequate money on small sites investigation. Nevertheless, the lecturer contradicts the hypothesis. She mentions that construction companies must pay for the examination before they start to work. Furthermore, they also have to pay for the planning and execution on preservation if there is artifacts in the sites.
Last but not least, the reading states that there are less jobs available in archaeology. Once again, the lecturer opposes the idea and said that the job opportunities are increasing. That is because, more examinations, plans and processes need to be done by archaeologists, more jobs are created.
In conclusion, due to the New Guideline appeared, the problems from the reading passage are solved.
