The graph below shows the differences in wheat exports over three different areas.
The line graph compares three countries in terms of their wheat exports over a period of 5 years.
It is clear that whereas European Community saw wheat export raise over the 5 years, Australia felt the reverse. Interestingly, beside considerable ups and downs, Canada showed the same results as at the beginning of the period.
In 1985, Australia exported 15 tonnes of wheat, while Canada and E.C. exported around 17 and 19 tons of wheat respectively. Over the following year, the wheat exports of Canada and E.C. fall by around 2 tonnes, but the figure for Australia rose by approximately 1 tonne.
From 1986 onwards, the trend of all three countries reversed. From 1986 to 1990, Australia cut the export of wheat by roughly 4 tonnes. By contrast, Canada saw an increase in wheat export of approximately 8 tonnes over 2 years. From 1988 onwards, the trend reversed. The figure for E.C. reached a plateau at the end of 1987, and then rose dramatically.
