The pie chart compares the proportion of water consumed by various sectors in Sydney, Australia in the two years- 1997 and 2007.
Overall, it is clear that the sector which used the highest percentage of water was the food industry sector in this period. Besides, after ten years, the proportion of water usage in the household use and service industry sector increased significantly while this figure for the remaining three sectors declined.
In 1997, the percentage of water used by the food sector was 48%, however, this figure for this sector decreased reasonably to 41% in 2007. Likewise, in the building industry and manufacturing sectors, the number of water consumptions down slightly. 5% of total water usage was in the building industry and 15% of total water usage was in the manufacturing sector. In the next ten years, the percentage of water used by two of these sectors both declined about 4%.
By contrast, there are an upward trend in the household and service industry sectors. Just increasing by 2% of the total water consumed by household use sector while this figure for service industry sector doubled, from 12% to 25% in 1997 and 2007.
