The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
The two given diagrams depict how a wave-energy machine operates and its location options with different results.
Overall, the wave-energy machine exploits mainly water tidal and airflow to generate electricity. Besides, a particular position of the machine results in dissimilar outputs.
Firstly, the machine operates by water levelling, that is when the tide is high, airflow will be thrust into the first chambers, then it keeps moving on to the next chamber to rotate one side of the turbine and finally moving out to the atmosphere. In a converse direction, a different airflow will be absorbed in the top chamber to turn the other side of the turbine to create electricity, then keeps moving downwards to the water surface.
In the second picture, there are two location options for the wave-energy machine. It can be located in small waves areas where it brings a lower output compared to large waves areas. However, it is a lower installation cost for an inshore location than an offshore one.
