The charts below show the percentage of food budgets the average Australian family spent on restaurant meals in different years. The graph shows the number of meals eaten in fast food restaurants and sit-down restaurants.
The pie charts depicts how much proportion of expenditure was spend on food by Australian family from 1980 to 2010. While, the line graph compares the fast food restaurants and sit-down restaurants on basis of food consumed by people during 1970-2010.
Overall, In the initial period majority people prefer to eat homemade food whereas at the end of the time more than half of the Australian population increased their money limit on restaurant food. interestingly, the fast food restaurants was the most popular among the people in comparison with sit-down restaurants.
To commence with, in 1980, the budget on restaurant meals was very limited up to 15 percent which, after ten years, was rise to more than double (35 percent). Furthermore, in 2000, the money spend on restaurants food items and home cooked food was level off. After one decade (2010), there was only slightly increase in budgets on outside food with the figures by 10 percent to reach 60 percent.
Secondly, the regular restaurant food items and fast food meals were equally popular with 20 number of meals per annum but after 10 years the sit-down restaurants slightly outraced the fast food restaurants the former with 35 meals and latter one with 30 meals per year. However, the table tunes, during 1970-2010, the fast food restaurants encounter significantly rose in meal consumption to reach at the peak (nearly 120 meals/per year) whereas the sit down restaurants also experience rise but not in great number.
