The chart below shows the expenditure of two countries on consumer goods in 2010.
The bar chart illustrates the consumption of goods, including: cars, computers, books, perfume and cameras in two countries (France and the UK) in 2010.
Overall, both countries spent the most money on cars, whereas the least money the UK and France has spent is on perfume. It is also noticeable that the expenditure of the UK is generally higher than France in the period given.
In terms of cars, the British expenditure is over 450,000 pounds comparing to approximately 400,000 pounds that of France. Similarly, people in the UK spent more than 40,000 pounds on books as opposed to the French at 300,000 pounds. In the UK, the consumption of cameras (just over 35,000 pounds) was over double that of France, which was only 150,000 pounds.
On the other hand, the amount of money paid out on the remaining goods was higher in France. Above 350,000 pounds was spent by the French on computers which was slightly more than the British who spent exactly 350,000 pounds. Neither of the countries spent much on perfume which accounted for 200,000 pounds of expenditure in France but under 150,000 pounds in the UK.
