The chart below show what percentage of their daily intake of various nutrients the average person in the USA consumes in each meal and in snacks.
The pie chart delineates the mundane intake of sodium, saturated fat and sugar that is added in the meals and snacks of the average American person. These nutrients may lead to unhealthy conditions if not taken in proper amount.
Thus, it is clearly evident that the consumption of sodium and saturated is maximum during the dinner and less during the breakfast and snacks. On the contrary, added sugar intake is maximum in the snacks and less during the breakfast.
According to the chart, an average person in the USA consumes an equal amount of sodium(14%) during breakfast and while eating snacks. However, the consumption of sodium almost doubles in the lunch(29%) and reported to be the maximum while having dinner. The trend slightly changed for the saturated fat. An average American person consumes 21 per cent and 26 percent of saturated fat while having lunch and snacks, respectively. Moreover, the consumption of fat during breakfast(16%) is almost doubled while having dinner(37%).
On the other hand, added sugar records approximately one-fourth(23%) of the consumption while having dinner. It is depicted that the maximum consumption of added sugar(43%) is in the snacks. Moreover, it is increased by 3% from breakfast(16%) to lunch(19%).
