The reading passage and the lecture discuss several possibilities about of Little Ice Age. the writer claims several reasons beyond occurring of Little Ice Age. However, the lecturer contradicts each point which is mentioned in article. She says, unfortunately, reasons that reading elaborates on are not reaction.
The author state, distruption in Gulf stream which occur temporarily from large ocean current could cause Little Ice Age. The lecturer refutes this argument. She says, if Ice Age occur as a result of disturbance in Gulf stream, Why other areas like Newzealand and South America which are also susceptible to this disturbance of stream did not show any Ice Age period.
Second, the passage asserts, volcanic eruption as a cause of Little Ice Age. Volcanic eruption release a lot of dust which might block sun light and earth become colder. The professor in the other hand has opposite thought. She believes, if volcanic eruption cause large amount of dust, this dust also cause visual impairment. People might not able to recognize colors like sunset or other colors. Moreover, there is no evidence about any visual disturbance, therefore, volcanic are not strong enough to cause cold weather in earth.
