The percentage of people owning three types of electricity powered household equipment which were washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner is illustrated in the first line graph, while the second chart depicts data of time spent on housework per household in one nation. All the data is given from 1920 to 2019.
It can be seen clearly that the proportion of electrical gadgets witnessed an upward trend, in contrast, the amount of time for doing household chores decreased over the period of time.
With regard to the first chart, the statistic of refrigerator ownership started at 0% in 1920, then increased dramatically to 100% during the next 60 years and leveled out from 1980 to 2019. From 1920 to 1940, the percentage of people having washing machine and vacuum cleaner grew significantly and were equal at 70% in 1960. In the next 10 years, the data of washing machine ownership showed a slight fall then recovered in the next 40 years while that of vacuum cleaner continued its upward trend to 100% in 200 and remained constant in the last 19 years of the period.
Moving on to describe the second line graph, the number of hours spent on doing housework was relatively high at 50. Between 1920 and 1960, a considerable decline of 20 hours was recorded, followed by a minimal decrease to 10 hours in 2019.
