The table shows the change in the number of cinemas in different regions in a European country between 2004 and 2009.
The table data provides information on the alterations in the number of cinemas in different areas in an unknown European country during period 2004-2009.
Overall, the period witnessed upward trends in city centers and areas nearby, consistent with the growth of total number. However, they were contrary to the downward trends in the suburbs and countryside that bucked the trend.
In particular, figures for city centers constantly constituted the highest numbers in both years, increasing slightly by 3.1% from the starting point of 1,512 to 1,620. Similarly, a growth of 1.6% (300-400 cinemas) was recorded in areas close to city centers. Correspondingly, these numbers were approximately one-fifth and one-fourth in comparison with those in city center areas.
However, regarding the suburb and countryside, the table shows opposing trends, with number decreasing by 25% from 40-30 for the former and by 6% from 108-90 for the latter. These figures were consecutively among the lowest across the table. Besides, it is noticeable that the most remarkable change was found in suburban areas.
