The chart below shows the changes that took place in three different areas of crime in Panama City from 2010 to 2019.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates how many crimes in various categories (burglary, car theft and robbery) in the city named Panama over the course of nine years, starting in 2010.
Overall, it is immediately obvious that the rates experienced an insignificant change, with the exception of burglary. At the start of the period, burglary was the most common crime, which was replaced by car theft.
In terms of cars, the number of incidents related to crime stood at nearly equal to 3000. This figure remained unchanged before descending dramatically and hitting the lowest point of merely over 2000 in 1993, followed by a steady increase in the remaining years. A similar pattern was seen in robbery. Despite some slight fluctuations over the period, the statistics remained equal to the beginning level, which caused around 750 incidents.
On the other hand, the number of burglaries witnessed a downward trend. Although the figure increased steadily in the first year period and peaked at approximately 3800 incidents, it underwent a notable dip in the four following years and hit the bottom of precisely 1000. This was followed by a slight growth from 2015 to 2019.
