In a general perspective, it is apparent that Italy and Portugal had witnessed an increasing trend through 40 years, while the inhabitants in Sweden and the United Kingdom cut down their CO2 release.
Initially, in 1967, the United Kingdom was the country that produced the largest amount of CO2, around 11, at the same time, Portugal had the lowest point, approximately 1.5. In the next 10 years, Sweden saw a sharp growth to hit its peak, from over 8 to more than 10, Italy and Portugal experienced a similar trend, their data both rose but not as significant as Sweden's, from 4 and 1.5 to 6 and 2, respectively. The United Kingdom was the sole nation that decreased the emissions created by a person in this period.
From 1987 to 2007, Italy and Portugal's statistics had the same tendency to move upwards then remain stably, from 3 and 5, went up to nearly 7 and 6, correspondingly. Meanwhile, Sweden and the United Kingdom residents reduce their CO2 discharges, while Sweden witnessed a considerable drop, from its peak at 8 to meet the same data with Portugal at 6, the United Kingdom fell gradually, from 11 to 9.
