Illiteracy has been a long-lasting problem for many countries all over the world. This essay will discuss the major causes of ignorance and its effects on human beings and society
To start with, there are many reasons that result in illiteracy but the majority is poverty. The underprivileged can’t even pay their daily expenses, let alone tuition fees. For instance, for people with low living standards, it is very necessary to spend money on human basic needs like shelter, food, and clothes …. So their money spent on studying is relatively limited. Furthermore, low living situations and the economy of families have an adverse bearing on the priority of studying of children. For example, school supplies and tuition fees have been inexorably increasing in recent years, making the disadvantaged difficult to pay.
Firstly, illiteracy continues to affect daily lives of many individuals in all areas. Non-readers can’t read even the simplest words so for sure they have many difficulties in their lives. For example, in the store, they can’t find things that they want to buy and cannot match the food packages because of illiteracy. Secondly, people with low studying standards stand limited chances of landing a high-paid job. The development of country bases on how many illiterate people in that country
In conclusion, it is undeniable that illiteracy has been a serious problem in modern world. The main reasons for illiteracy are difficult living circumstances and poverty and they affect individuals and social development
