The two pie charts illustrate the amount of average household money spent on five various goods and services in two countries, namely Japan and Malaysia in 2010.
Overall, the largest amount of money, by far, went on housing in Malaysia while it was on other goods and services in Japan. In both countries, the lowest amount of money allocated on health care.
Slightly above a third of the total expenditure of Malaysian people was on housing whereas that of Japanese people accounted for almost less than a quarter according to the graph. Average household expenditure in Malaysia on food comprised of 27%, 3% more than that of Japan household. Similarly, people in Malaysia spent 26% of their expenditure on other goods and services whilst the counterparts of them spent 29%.
Regarding transport and health care, twofold much amount of money was spent on these in Japan rather than in Malaysia. The proportion of the average expenditure on transport and health care made up 20% and 6% respectively, in Japan.
