Essay topics:

Oil use of major consumers (2015)
The graph below gives information about total oil use of 4 main consumers from 2009 to 2030

The line graph highlights the amount of oil consumed per day in four different areas over 22 years, starting from 2009.
Overall, the total of oil use in the US, Western Europe and Japan follows downward trends over the period shown. The opposite tendency, however, can be seen in China and the Middle East.
From 2009 to 2015, the total barrels of oil used daily in the US was around 10 billion. The figure, then, is anticipated to sharply decline to the lowest threshold of 4 billion after 15 years. Meanwhile, the number of daily consumed oil in Western and Japan began at 4 billion and decreased to about 3 billion after 6 years. This is predicted to continue decreasing to 2 million by 2030.
China’s oil consumption was below 2 billion in 2009, and this number is forecasted to gradually increase to above 3 billion by 2030. A careful glance at the graph reveals that the statistics for China coincide with the Middle East in terms of past observation as well as future projections. Nevertheless, the Middle East’s oil consumption seems to fluctuate more than China’s.
