The chart below shows the percentage of the population in the UK who consumed the recommended daily amount of fruit and vegetables in 2002, 2006 and 2010
The bar chart given illustrates the proportion of the United Kingdom residents consuming the recommended daily amount of fruit and vegetables in three separate years, 2002, 2006 and 2010.
Overall, the figure of women was highest in all three years, while the reserve was true for that of children. It is worth noting that the percentage of men, women and children had a similar trend, increasing from 2002 to 2006 then decreasing.
In 2002, there was around 25% of females eating the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables in daily life. Following that, the figure of males was not much less, at 22%, which doubled that of children.
After 4 years, the figures for men, women and children experienced a considerable rise and reached a peak of 28%, 32% and 16% respectively. Then, the percentage of females consuming fruit and vegetables by recommendations fell relatively by 5% and 4% in 2010. Meanwhile, the figure of children underwent a smaller decrease of 2%.
