The line graph below shows the average daily maximum temperatures for Auckland and Christchurch, two cities in New Zealand, and London and Edinburgh, two cities in the United Kingdom.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given line graph illustrates the average highest temperatures every day in four separate cities, namely Auckland, Christchurch, London, and Edinburgh.
Overall, it can be seen that, in the first half-year period, there are downtrends in the average maximum temperatures of two cities: Auckland and Christchurch, but in the second half-year period, these figures increase. However, the opposite is true for the two rest cities.
In the first month of the year, the daily maximum temperatures in Auckland, and Christchurch are approximately 22.5 and 25 degrees. The figures for the two British cities are both just over 5 degrees. July witnesses a gradual decline in the temperatures of the two New Zealand cities to just over 10 degrees ( in Christchurch), and 15 degrees ( in Auckland). In contrast, the temperatures of London and Edinburgh rapidly go up from 5 degrees to around 17 and 22 degrees, respectively.
In the last half-year period, there is moderate growth in the temperatures of Auckland and Christchurch, and they all reach above 20 degrees at the end of the year. On the other hand, the figures in the two United Kingdom cities both drop to around 7 degrees, which are a bit higher than that of January.
