The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given process depict hydroelectric power station produced electricity through the flowing of water from high level to low level.
It is seen that the diagram which commences with the movement of water from the river to reservoir and abolishes the pumped water return to the dam after creating electricity relate to different stages. Furthermore, its functions are variously worked in a day and night.
At the outset, the river floods a high-level reservoir before the water go through the intake which is only set the open at day. In the next stage, the water with profound high pressure flow into a power station in which there is a generator. A riversible turbines is the operation of generator that enable to transfer the water flowing force to the mechanical force which is a power of the generator. National grid is moved via the power lines by the generated electricity. Simultaneously, the aforementioned amount of water flows into a low-level reservoir
On the other hand, the power station activated in reserved way at night. It pumps water from low-level reservoir to hogh-level reservoir in order to obtain sufficient water for day time’s work. Parallel riversible turbines transported water from low-level reservoir. Therefore, in fact, the power station consumes energy at night. Nevertheless, that is just for the aim which generate more power in a day time Moreover, water is stored to continue an akin process on the following day because the dam is closed at that time.
