The diagram below shows how solar panels can be used to provide electricity for domestic use.
Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The supplied diagram illustrates components of a solar panel as well as two different models which can be used in converting sunlight into heat air or heat water. In general, the main parts of a solar panel consist of box with an inlet placed on the opposite side of an outlet. Moreover, a transparent glass covers the top and allows sun rays to pass through, into the inner space.
It is readily apparent that the heat inside the box will be trapped, therefore, cool air can easily be warmed after it enters the inlet and makes contact with the hot environment within, resultantly, warm air will exit via the outlet.
As clearly seen, in order to produce heat water, a water pipe is required to connect the inlet and the outlet under the see-through roof of the box. Noticeably, as cool water travels along the pipe, it will obviously be heated up by high temperature produced by the solar power. Warm water is expected to be the outcome of the process. Due to the complete usage of natural energy, solar panel is an effective contraption to save electricity for domestic use.
