The diagram illustrates the process by which plate glass and bottle glass are manufactured.
It is clearly seen that the initial stage of production are the same both two kinds of glass.
At the first stage in making plate glass, there are three types of materials that are mixed together, thereby put into a funace. This mixed materials are heated at approximately 1700 degree until they melt and form molten glass. These are then flows through piping to a reservoir, , at the bottom of which is a valve. The glass comes out of this onto rollers, which have the function of straighting the glass.
At the following stage in producing an bottle glass, the molten glass flows from this furnace to moulds. Subsequently, this flows into each mould, followed by releasing a compressed air, thereby forcing the glass onto the inside wall of the mould, leaving the rest of it empty. After a cooling process, the mould can be removed and final product can be taken out – the bottle.
