The table below shows five kinds of vehicles registered in Australia between the three years 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Overall, the amounts of all five types of vehicles were on an upward trend throughout the year. In addition, the number of passenger vehicles was the highest in all three years, while motorcycles had the biggest change.
To begin with, passenger vehicles registered 11.8 million while commercial vehicles were dramatically lower at 2.3 million in 2010. The number of passenger vehicles increased by 10.2 percent to 13 million over the next four years. In contrast, the number of commercial vehicles increased by 17.2 percent but only by 2.7%.
Turning to other types of vehicles, motorcycle vehicles had the biggest change by 30.4% from 540,000 to 709,000 between 2010 and 2014. At the same time, light trucks rose significantly by 23.5% and heavy trucks saw slight growth by 8.3%.
