The given line chart below illustrates that how many shops in a particular country opened and closed from 2011 to 2018.
Overall, it is clear that, initially opening new stores were prominent which dropped during the period, while the reverse was true for the closure of shops. However, the least amount of stores closed in 2015.
The number of shops that closed fluctuated between 6000-7000 over the first four years and then it dropped sharply to the lowest point in 2015 at 600 only. Its numbers showed resilience and grew back to 4000 over the following year and then remained at the same level until 2018.
Comparatively, the significant amount of shops opened in 2011, whose amount was around 8500. After a dramatic drop it reached to 4000 after a year and then grew back to equalizing with the closure of shops in 2014. This figure declined again to its 2012 level in 2015 and plateaued until 2017 which then plummeted by 1000 at the end of the period.
