You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.
Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:
• Introduce yourself.
• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.
• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I, Sharmistha Naskar, am an existing bank account holder of the HDFC Bank. Also, I am an active credit card holder of this bank. Here is my bank account information:
A/C:432423746238
IFSC code: SD7858
Yesterday, I received last cycle credit card bill where I noticed there are few expensive purchases which I have not made. I crosschecked all purchase ietms once again to verify that by mistakenly I have not bought those. Hence, I can assure you from my end that those transactions were not made from my end. Moreover, I never let anybody else to use my card. Neither my parents or siblings or any of my friends know my card PIN. There is a 2-factor verification activated for secure transactions.
For your information, I always maintain a very good credit score.
I would like to request you to take a look at my last billing details and please clarify the reasons of those unexpected transactions and fixed this issue at your earliest before last payment date. Please make sure that I must not get such spooky purchase details with my card details.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
