The provided figures present comparative data on the type of vehicles used in the UK—public transport, recreational vehicles, private cars and lorries —in terms of their preference for the span of forty years (i.e 1965 to 2005)
All in all, the popularity of private vehicles stayed at the lead throughout the years, while the recreational vehicles stayed the ones least preferred by the people of the United Kingdom.
The number of private cars grew starting with two-fifths of the total proportion to an additional fifteen percentages in the next twenty years, while the figures rose to half of the original value by 2005. In the meantime, usage of recreational vehicles, originally 15%, plunged to one-third of the original figure in the initial 20 years but had a growth of 8% by the end.
Likewise, the liking of lorries remained steady for the initial years, while plummeted to half of its original value in the final year. Meanwhile, public transport starting from quarter of the proportion, had a slow paced fall, with a final decrease of three percent.
