The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
The plans illustrate the site of Southwest Airport today and how it will be redeveloped next year.
In general, the airport will become modernized by the following year. Some modifications are including providing new amenities to passengers, constructing a sky train for jetway and extending the number of available planes.
At present day, the airport is separated into two halls, one for departures and the other for arrivals. Passengers to depart can inform at check-in and rest at the café before passing the security passport control. However, in arrival hall, there are only passport control customs but no facilities. There are altogether 8 gates which are accessed by a walkway to different airlines.
According to the redevelopment plan, the basic building design will not change. The doors for both departures and arrivals are set to be increased from 2 to 4. New facilities such as bag-drop, car hire and ATM machines will be added in halls. Departing passengers can even spare time at shops at the back of passport control. Moreover, a walkaway will be replaced by a sky train for the passenger boarding bridge and increased gates (16) are likely to be placed in a Y-shape.
