Some people think movies should only be for entertainment. Others think that they should also have educational values.
Discuss both views and give your opinion
From then till now, movies seem to be entertainment tools for every family. However, some suggest that it includes many meaningful lessons. Personally, I believe films can be either or both. However, it is up to individuals to choose what type of film they like or for what reasons they watch.
Nowadays, films and television are extremely popular forms of entertainment. It is almost universal that families have at least one television in their house to help them relax and gather family members together to watch TV shows or movies they like. After a hard-working day, they may not have the enthusiasm and energy to sit and learn something so they just want to relax and be entertained. Furthermore, movies are a significant part of the entertainment industry. This creates jobs for many people and generates lots of money in many countries, so it is called a multibillion-dollar industry.
On the other hand, movies have many educational values which strongly affect audiences' mindset. For instance, children can learn what is right and wrong when watching cartoons, while adults can also learn many lessons through movies. The second example is watching films about war. This may help people have a strong sense of patriotism for their country which may be extremely boring by searching on the internet.
In conclusion, while some educational movies can also be entertaining, some for entertainment also have educational aspects, I believe that it is not necessary that all films need to be geared towards learning.
