You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.
write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter
-correct the information in the article
-explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
-suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Sir,
While traveling I was going through your magazine. I have noticed some crucial information our town published wrongly over there. Therefore, I decided to inform you accordingly.
Basically, the shared piece of content was having wrong details about the city history. There is a typo as well. 2nd paragraph of the content should say, that kolkata is known as ‘city of joy instead’ of ‘city of happiness’. Former name of our city i.e. Calcutta is wrongly spelled in the article.
As we all of aware that this magazine is the best selling all across the world and there are various competitors as well. Sharing incorrect information about any city will not be a wise decision for your company reputation as well as it may create wrong impact on readers. If it continues then popularity of your magazine may decrease. Eventually, others can take over it easily.
However, due to this current situation, it would be helpful to publish an apology letter in the next version of this magazine. Also, I would like to suggest to do a strict proofreading and information verification before you publish it on e-version or printed one.
Your’s faithfully,
SN
