The diagram below shows the life cycle of the kiwi.
The diagram illustrates various stages in the life of the kiwi.
Overall, there are nine stages in the transformation of kiwi, from birth to maturity.
The life cycle of kiwi begins when their egg hatches to a small chick. After that, the chick learns to stand up and leaves its parent’ territory. In this stage, most young kiwi are killed within 6 months. Following this, the survived chicks establish their own territory. The next step is when they reach maturity at around 2-5 years old for males and 3-5 years old for females, the kiwi finds a mate.
During the sixth stage of the life cycle, kiwi dig burrow to build their nest. The step after this is mating and laying eggs. After this stage is complete, they incubate the eggs and wait for their chicks. Once final stages have been completed, the life cycle begins anew.
