Some people think that governments should ban dangerous sports, while others think people should have the freedom to do any sports or activity.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion
While some people come to a consensus on the regulations against extreme sports, others argue that they should be given official authorization to engage freely in any sports or activities. This essay will explore both perspectives and state my support for the former one.
On the one hand. proponents of risky sports emphasize the distinctive enjoyment they provide. It is inherent in human nature to have a preference for embracing life to the fullest. Many individuals, particularly youth, have reported that they derive immense pleasure in experiencing the fear of death along with the increased rate of their heartbeats every time they engage in in dangerous activities such as snowboarding and skydiving. Furthermore, these sports make ones step out of their comfort zones, and challenge their limits, which proves the saying "There is nothing a human cannot do". The risk-takers might discover their capacity to accomplish numerous goals, which are commonly deemed impossible, instilling greater confidence in them in their potential and abilities.
On the other hand, despite the above-mentioned virtues of extreme sports, there is an ethical issue related to its impact on individuals' well-being that justifies the prohibition of participating in such pursuits. Physical well-being is a prerequisite for taking risks through extreme sports. However, the organizers cannot assess the health of participants beforehand due to its inconvenience and their limited budgets. Consequently, certain individuals may face extreme conditions and challenges that are beyond their capabilities. They face the potential for diseases related to cardiac function or even worse, death. Indeed, it comes as no surprise to witness a person lose his life due to a unfortunate moment at which he decides to participate in hazardous sports. Additionally, there are a multitude of secure activities that can have an comparable impact on relaxation and contentment. A prominent example of this is swimming, which is enjoyed by the majority of the general public while requiring such minimal equipment.
In conclusion, while there are valid advantages of taking part in dangerous sports and activities, a strict ban on this hobby must be implemented by governmental institutions. It is advisable for individuals to choose safer pursuits like browsing the Internet and engaging in football to amuse themselves without jeopardizing their own safety.
