The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.
The picture illustrates the procedure of manufacturing sugar from sugar canes.
Overall, in total, there are seven stages to produce sugar from sugar canes, starting with the first step of growing the canes and ending with the final step of drying and cooling the extracted crystals before officially used as sugar.
To begin with, the first fundamental stage is to plant and grow sugar canes, the main ingredients to create sugar. After 12 to 18 months, the canes reach the harvesting season and farmers can collect them manually or with the help of specialized equipment to shorten the harvesting time.
The following step is to crush the harvested sugar canes through a machine into liquid before purifying it through limestone filter. Then, the juice will be boiled until it thickens to a texture similar to syrup. Later, an equipment called centrifuge will separate sugar crystals from the syrup. The final stage after separation is to dry and cool the crystals before being considered sugar.
