Task 1: The graph below shows the hours of teaching per year done by each teacher in four different countries in 2001.
The bar chart compares how many hours each teacher taught per year in four different countries, namely Japan, Spain, Iceland, and the USA in 2001.
Overall, it can be seen from the chart that teachers in the USA taught more than teachers in the other four countries. In addition, teachers in high school taught more hours than the other teachers in primary and lower secondary.
In 2001, teachers in primary and lower secondary in both Japan and Spain worked at approximately 600. Similarly, the number of hours teachers spent in upper secondary in Japan was also roughly 600; by contrast, the figures for teachers in Spain were much higher, at just over 800.
Turning to the remaining countries, teachers in primary school and lower secondary taught roughly 700 hours, while close to 900 were the number of hours for teachers in upper secondary. Whereas the number of hours teachers taught in lower and upper secondary schools in the USA was 1100, the figures for teachers in primary schools were much lower, at approximately 800.
