Task 1:
The charts give information about two genres of TV programs watched by men and women and four different age groups in Australia. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart compares data regarding two distinct TV programs, namely reality shows and game shows, seen by males, females, and four other age groups in Australia. It is quite evident that females prefer watching reality shows more, whereas in case of game shows, both genders’ ratio is almost at par. Additionally, it is also clear that people above 45 years are fonder of game shows than the rest.
In the case of reality shows, the interest of people keeps on gradually increasing with their age, with approximately an increase of 20% from the age group of 16 to 24 years to above 45 years. These shows entertain females the most who mark the highest proportion of almost 70 %, and men have the slightest liking with only about 35% of them who watch these programs.
Consequently, it can be observed that the percentages of both genders are almost identical in the case of game shows. However, games interest youth between 16 to 24 years of age and elder people above 45 years with about 50% views by the former and 70% by the latter. However, the lowest mark in this category is made by age groups 25 to 30, and 35 to 44 with a ratio of nearly 40%.
