Topic: The graph shows the number of people taking part in 4 kinds of sports in a particular region between 1985 and 2005
The graph illustrates how many citizens participated in four categories of sports, including basketball, tennis, badminton, and rugby in a certain area from 1985 to 2005.
In general, it is apparent that tennis was only the most dominant sport experiencing a positive trend throughout the examined period, whereas the opposite was true for basketball sport. Noticeably, both badminton and rugby were undergoing a level-off status in the whole period.
Looking at the graph, basketball gained popularity among citizens, taking the lead at approximately 250 in 2985. This figure was more than 100 people compared to the number of people playing tennis. It witnessed a significant change in the development of the two kinds of sports in the rest of the period. While the number of residents choosing tennis experienced a dramatic increase to reach roughly 230, the figure for basketball players underwent a rocket plummet by merely 5 times compared to the first mentioned year.
Regarding badminton and rugby, both of them accounted for a tiny part of the total number of people playing sports, at 50 and 75, respectively, in 1985. Notably, during the period, both of the two categories maintained a stable attraction fairly similar to the starting point.
