Overall, while food and other spending categories expenses saw minor variation between Japan and Malaysia, housing, differed markedly. Meanwhile, the figure for spending on transport and healthcare in Japan were doubled those in Malaysia.
Regarding Malaysia, in 2010, the expenses on housing were the highest, accounting for roughly 34% of the total. In Japan, there had been slight change this outlay, at 21%; ranked after the spending on other goods and services and food, settling at 29% and 24% respectively. Moreover, two expenditures in Malaysia had similarity, at nearly 26%.
Turning to other household budget distribution, Japanese spending on transport and healthcare doubled that of Malaysia. Specifically, the spending on transport and healthcare almost tripled in Japan, at 20% and 6% in that order. On the contrary, the budget for healthcare in Malaysia hit the lowest point at only 3%.
