The barchart demonstrates the amount of spend money by the four catagories age groups of British citizens on three types in 2004.
On the whole, it is clear that as age advanced, the spending properties of people changed. Older age groups spent more money on Food and drink and Entertainment, but the vice versa was not true for under 45s. Additionally, the spending on Food and drink was the least by the under 30s, and the highest by the above 76 age group.
Looking at the Food and drink data in more detail it is pronounced that the expenditure on food and drink gradually increased as age advanced. It started from around 6% to peak at approximately 23%. The amount of spending on Restaurant and hotel was the same for under 60s. They spent 12-14%. On the other side, 61-75 and 76+ groups spent around 2% and 7% respectively.
Finally, Entertainment expenditure was high for above 45 age, but the vice versa was not true for under 45 age. 61-75 age group had the highest value at around 23% and lowest value approximately 7% for the under 30 group.
