In some countries around the world, voting is compulsory. Do you agree with the notion of compulsory voting? !f voting is compulsory in a democratic society, what are some conclusions we can draw about the nature of democracy?

In democratic countries voting is the process to elect the leader, if we have an efficient leader then we can see the progress or development in the society. In some countries voting is compulsory, which is breaking the concept of democracy by limiting the freedom of a citizen, but it should be treated as responsibility by every citizen, just like paying tax to the welfare of society. This essay describes about the consequences of making voting is compulsory, and give a logical conclusion.

To Commence with, when voting is made unavoidable, inevitably people to pay more attention to the politics and take wise decisions when choosing their leader. For instance, in a recent survey conducted by Election Commission of India most of the places with higher rate of votes has the tremendous developments in society because the elected leaders are efficient.

On the other hand, when the voting is not compulsory, people pay less attention to politics there by the voting rate will be low and there are chances of incapable leaders to be elected. For illustration, a recent survey conducted by Election Commission of India shows that the developments are done considerably in low voting rate places, as the elected leaders are incapable of doing it.

In conclusion, when voting is compulsory, we can see better growth, but it is violating the democratic freedom, but it is the duty of every citizen to feel responsible and participate in voting just like paying tax. Voting is not for the sake of others but it’s for our own.
