The mass media including TV, Radio and newspaper influence our society and shape our opinions and characters. What is your opinion?
The trend of mass marketing is increasing nowadays to a larger extent. Mass media and other advertisements plays vital role in shaping of our opinions and characters. I personally agree to this statement and there are both positive and negative effects of this. My preferences are argued further in this essay.
To begin with, mass media are the essential part our daily routine. Everyone comes across either of any mass media in daily routine. We come to know the events happening around us or in the surrounding by these media. Therefore we believe the information and figures mentioned in any article. But it is up to the media to provide audience the right and truthful information. For instance, in politics if there is article on one person detroiting the image of the person, we start judging the person without knowing the other part of the story.
Furthermore, the advertisement also plays crucial role in changing the opinion regarding the products. The advertisements in the newspaper containing one full page information about it, we think It might be the better product in the market. In the newspaper there are attractive images of the product which influence to buy the product which is not needed. For example, there is attractive image of the teddy bear in the newspaper and its headlined that it has 10 percent discount, then we ought to buy thing though its unnecessary at that time.
In conclusion, mass media plays important role in changing the opinion regarding products and characters. I believe there are both positive and negative effects.
