Writing Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You are planning a short visit to a city where one of your relatives lives.
Write a letter to your relative. In your letter:
• Explain when and how long you will be in town.
• Ask whether you can stay at their home.
• Offer to pay for yourself.
You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ...,
You should write at least 150 words.
I hope you are doing well. Guess what? I'm planning a short visit to Calgary and I'm really excited to explore the city.
My flight is scheduled to arrive in Calgary at 10 in the morning next Friday and the return flight is scheduled on sunday evening. I have a business meeting to attend on Friday and later I'm completely free. So, I just extended my trip by a couple of days to explore your gorgeous town. You remember Sagar? Even he is coming with me on this trip.
However, I'm facing a hard time finding reservation in the hotels. So, is it possible that I can stay at your home for a couple of nights. It will rather be good for us as well because we haven't met since ages. You can show us around the city as well and we can enjoy together.
Though I'm asking to stay at your house, I'm not willing to stay for free. I'll pay for the stay as well as food for myself and you don't need to worry about my expenses.
Sending you a big hug and hope to see you soon.
Your brother,
Mrinal
