According to the passage, R Robustus were scavengers instead of being hunters of dinosaurs and often fed on dinosaur's eggs. However, the lecturer refutes to this claim made by saying that they were hunters of dinosaurs and supported her arguments with some evidence.
Firstly, it has been claimed in the passage that the R Robustus were smaller than Psittacosaur therefore, it is impossible for R Robustus to eat dinosaurs similar to the size of Psittacosaur. Where as the lecturer states that even the R Robustus were smaller than the fully grown Psittacosaur, it could be that R Robustus ate its baby because R Robustus is twice as large as the baby found in the stomach.
Secondly, the passage mentions that the length and the positioning of the legs of R Robustus made it a slow moving animal. There is no possibility that such a slow moving animal eats up a fast moving Psittacosaur. However, the lecturer disagrees to this explanation by supporting it to the evidence of modern animal that has its leg positioned similar to the ancient R Robustus that runs fast and the length of the legs of this modern animal does not restrict it from moving fast therefore, the positioning of legs has nothing to do with movement.
Lastly, the passage states that there are no teeth marks on the body found in R Robustus's stomach because it was swallowed as an egg. However, the lecturer says that the R Robustus had powerful large jaws that they used for swallowing and did not require them to chew therefore, it probably swallowed the dinosaur's baby and did not require to chew the small body.
