The chart below shows the number of men and women in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The charts give information regarding the number of people (male and female) choosing full-time and part-time education in Britain during three periods since 1970. It is immediately apparent that taking full-time education showed its superiority, in men and women, over another further education in Britain. In addition, only did the figure for the male in full-time education experience a decrease and an increase while there was a growth in male’s number of part-time education and in both educations figure for the female during the period.

Regarding the male’s interest, full-time education stood at around 1000 in 1970/71, witnessing a noticeable decline to nearly 850, and then jumped gradually to 900 at the end of the period. At the same time, part-time education saw a slight rise from about 100 –the minimum number of male’s preferable education– to 200 during the period.

Turning to the female’s chart, there was a similar pattern for full-time education and part-time education between period 1970/71 and 1990/91. While the former grew significantly, rising from nearly 700 to around 1100 – the largest number of preferable education, the latter rose gradually, before leveling of almost 200 at the end of the period.
