The diagrams below show how glass containers , such as bottles , are produced and recycled.
The first flow diagram depicts the information about how glass containers are produced while, the second diagram shows the recycling of used glass. It is clear and cohrent representation.
It can be seen that the first step in the glass production is mixing, in which sand, soda ash, limestone and other chemicals are mixed together. After, the mixture is stored in the glass furnace at higher temperature ( 1500°C) and this process is known as melting. Afterthat, shaping is the process in which molten glass is shaped by blowing. Finally, products are produced; namely glass conatiners.
The collection of used glass is the first step of glass recycling. Then, the collected glass is sorted by according to its colour. For removing the impurties from the used glass, it has been washed. At the fourth stage of recycling, the glass is crushed and melted, and in the final stage it is moulded into new products
