Firstly, Italy and Portugal followed a similar trend in CO2 emission on average per person with just above 1.5 and 4 metric tonnes respectively. Furthermore, this trend increased steadily and landed at slightly below 8 and 6 metric tonnes. Secondly, the united kingdom and Portugal co2 emissions decreased over the period of time.
Average Co2 emission was highest in the UK in 1967 with nearly 11 metric tonnes while this figure decreased gradually and reached 8.5 metric tonnes. Sweden started at approximately 9 metric tonnes in 1967 and increased dramatically in the first decade and reached 11 metric tonnes but this numbers fell drastically in the next decade from 1977 to 1987 with 6 metric tonnes in 1987 and decreased further and landed at 5 metric tonnes by 2007.
