The figures reveal the total number of books lent by four village libraries from June to September 2014 and the categories of books borrowed. It is clearly seen that there was an increase in the number of books lent except for Rye Slip. Moreover, fiction was the most popular genre borrowed by the villagers.
On June 2014, West Eaton and Church Mount had the lowest number of books borrowed with only 50 each while Sutton Wood had 250 and Rye slip had the highest with 300 books. The following month, more books were lent by three libraries except for Rye slip which suffered a gradual decrease until September with 175 books lent. Sutton Wood library's borrowed books plummeted in August with only 100 but it sharply grew in September with 300. West Eaton jumped up to 150 books in August but it plateaued in September while Church Mount climbed until it reached 150 at the end of the period.
Fiction books were the most popular categories borrowed by the villagers with 43% and it was followed by biography which was roughly half of the percentage of the first type. Science and history books had both 14% and the least preferred books were self help with only a tenth.
