The pie charts show the average consumption of food in the world in 2008 compared to two countries; China and India.
Write a report to a university lecturer describing the data.
The three pie charts compare the consumption of various food types in 2008 among China, India and the global figures.
As shown from the information provided, processed food was in the dominant position of food consumption in 2008, whereby 41%, 34% and 39% were registered by the world, China and India respectively. Meanwhile, vegetables and fruits accounted for approximately one-third in both global consumption and the Chinese intake, whereas their Indian counterparts took less than one-fourth in their daily meals.
In stark contrast, food derived from animal, however, shared a significantly different pattern in China. In fact, in comparison to India, which was practically in line with the world consumption at 26%, the Chinese dining habit merely consumed 15% meat at large. Likewise, the Chinese also consumed a considerable amount of nuts and seed at 19%, exceeding the percentage found in India and global culture, which were registered at 11% and 4% respectively.
Overall, India shared some resemblance with the world's figure in terms of food consumption pattern in 2008
