The diagram explains in which way geothermal energy is used in order to produce electricity.
Overall, the process consists of five stages, beginning with pumping down cold water into the geothermal zone and ending up with the production of electricity from the generator.
First of all, cold water is pumped down 4.5 km underground through the injection well. After that, the water is injected into the geothermal zone where it is heated up by hot rocks. Once it is has been heated up, hot water passes through the production well and then pumped up to soil surface.
In the next stage, the hot water is transferred into the condenser in which steam water is created. Following this, the steam flows into another chamber and activates the turbine whom movement powers an electrical power generator placed in the same chamber. Finally, the electrical energy produced is ready to be used and goes to power lines that will transmit and distribute the energy.
