Life cycle of the silkworm and silk cloth production.
The pictures depict the life cycle of the silkworm and how silk cloth is produced. There are 9 stages in the diagrams from lays up to woven fabric.
In the beginning is that a moth lays up eggs on a leaf, after which silkworm larva hatch 10 day later. They use their own mulberry leaf as a food, During the 4 - 6 weeks larva produces a lot of silk. After 3 - 8 days the larva is located on cocoons, so that helps its to become a moth 16 days later.
In order to make a silk weave, first of all you have to select silkworm's cocoons. The cocoons are put in the pan with hot water, which make them boiled. The following step is that thread, which size is from 300 to 900 meters, need to be unwinded and twisted then. The next step is that the thread is moved to another pan, in order to bee dyed. Final complete woven fabric is moved to the pan again, which makes its redyed.
