The percentage of overweight children in western society has increased by almost 20% in the last ten years. Discuss the causes and effects of this disturbing.
There are several factors that contributed to children overweight increasing up to 20 percent in western societies. Below are listed some reasons of being overweight:
One of the main reasons of putting weight is unhealthy diet. Nowadays people are fond of eating fast foods, the increasing number of fast food restaurant supports this. These kinds of foods are delicious but contain lots of fat and salt. The fat and salt as fast food ingredient could cause serious problem such as extreme blood pressure.
Another factor of children obesity is tasty junking foods, not only they are unhealthy but cause children consume energy and calories than they expend. In other hand due to video games children are not intended to high require movement activities. Beside video games TV programs make children to spend hour and hour sitting on sofa watching TV. The obesity children are most of the time rejected from their friends ban. That would cause lack of self confidence which could in future cause more mental complexes.
The last cause of overweight is diabetes. Getting so much sugar and carbohydrates could cause diabetes suffering. Insulin injection is so terrible and unfair for children in age of fifteen or even less.
As it is mentioned above unhealthy diets and less physical actives can treat the children healthiness psychological, physiological and even social problems.
