The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010.
The Bar charts compare the percentage of British students who knew not only English language but any other in University in England in two different years in 2000 and 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that Spanish had highest percentage in two years while German language had the lowest percentage and had the same figures in two years.
In 2000, 30% of students were able to speak in Spanish and the figure raised steadily to 35% in 2010, in contrast, students who could speak in French cmprised of 15% and for the following 10 years the percentage increased to 10%. Students who new German as an additional language accounted for 10% in 2000 and the total figure was the same in 2010.
With regards to the students who new Another language or Two other languages, there were 5% grwoth to 20% and 15% respectively. By contrast, in 2000, total 20% students did not know other language and for the next 10 years the percentage decreased significantly to 10%.
