The percentage of school boys in two different age groups who participated in 5 different sports in the UK in 2010.
The table shows data on the proportion of school aged boys in two age groups taking part in 5 kinds of sport in the UK in 2010.
Overall, boys age 6-11 do more activities of each group (except for swimming). In addition, football was the most popular kinds of sport for both age groups.
The proportion of boys in the 6-11 age group was highest, at about 87%. The figures for basketball and cricket were lower, at about 35% and 45% respectively. Around 23% of boy age 6-11 group taking part in rugby, compared to about 19% of the older age group who liked swimming.
The figure for people who liked football in the 12-16 age group was highest, at about 78%. The proportion of boys in 12-16 age group spent a significantly higher proportion on basketball and cricket, which accounted for 25% and 34% respectively. The figure for swimming was lowest, at only 19%.
